My guess is the defense team has advised against it. But, it’s ultimately the defendant’s decision. I agree it’s a mistake.

This must be the case.

Judge asked him and they said they were OK with it..

Lulz. You need to get off the internet for a week.
Coming from the network that described a riot as a “fiery, but mostly peaceful protest”, while standing in front of a burning building…

It is completely believable.

I haven't paid attention...did the prosecution rest? If so, were any motions made by the defense?

Certainly unorthodox but maybe they have enough confidence in him that this will be the bow on the present. It’s not necessary but wtf do I know.

Ok, I’ll edit my stance.

I doubt an 18 year old is making that call over his lawyers’ advice.

Prosecution rested yesterday. No motion for directed verdict was made.

Who would downvote my post saying Rittenhouse is an American hero?

Let’s review the facts:

Police stand down and allow cities to be burned and businesses destroyed
Kyle who is a 17yo life gaurd goes to protect businesses and livelihoods, clean up graffiti, and deliver first aid
He defends himself perfectly, harming no innocent civilians.
He perfectly disarms a person attempting to kill him by shooting them in the arm with the gun but not killing him.
The two people killed were violent felons, one a serial pedophile.

99% of our police officers can’t get out of a firefight with that level of success.

I’ll also add that he put out 2 fires at a church and a high school.
He also provided medical aid to two people.

Is Kyle paying for his defense? I would demand a fricking refund.

Agree. Nothing good can come from putting an 18 year old criminal defendant on the stand!!! Prosecution SUX in this case but they're still so much smarter than an 18 year old..

IDK, the autistic guy did pretty well against the Teletubby yesterday.

I’m joking. But you’re right, with CNN, there’s no telling what’s real and what’s satire.

Makes me wonder if the judge told the lawyer, I won't be granting it, so don't even ask.

His defense attorney said that they were ok with it.
I noticed that Rittenhouse was pretty upset when viewing the pathology pics, so I think that he’s going to show that he’s devastated by what happened, but that he had no choice.

Kyle is a hero and he shouldn’t be charged with anything, but this line is 100% bullshite.

Not sure if was police's choice or decision from someone above the police chief. But either way, we're fricked because you can't rely on the cops to protect you or your properties. And if you take matters in your own hands, you'll be under trial. That's not a nice feeling knowing this is the situation we're in.

He seems to be doing okay so far, but him being up there is such a huge risk I find it totally baffling.
