I feel bad for him not having any friends and you can see how desperate he was that he would want to play with a two year old girl when he asked the neighbor if he had any kids. I know kids can be cruel and it’s always been like that but I always tell my son to treat others the way you want to be treated.

That's tough to watch. Kid never stood a chance as soon as Shaydon was typed on his birth certificate.

Can't blame the home owner for not letting him hang with his 2 year old.

Poor kid needs some help. I'm not sure of the answer though.

So sad. He does need to be in karate or some other group thing. It would help this little guy immensely.

Why would the homeowner share that video on the internet. Incredibly sad to see any kid lonely and even more sad that another parent would think it’s ok to post a video like that of someone else’s child having a rough time.

“Why would the homeowner share that video on the internet?”

Right?
I’d be worried about the legality of it even.

maybe he did it to show how much bullying sucks? i doubt it was the homeowner that posted it on World Star.

the person that did post it on World Star captioned it this way.

and

This is why y’all have to be kind to everyone , this is so sad. Posted by PSmooth

i understand what you're saying. it would break my heart if it were my kid and i saw it on the internet. but it doesn't mean it was posted for nefarious reasons.

I've been in a similar situation at a similar age. There's a difference between bullying, and an entire young world turning against you. It fricked me up for a long time. I would venture to say I didn't get truly over it for 15 years or so. That level of loneliness kills the soul.

Same and is why, even in my 40s I have trust issues and cannot establish friendships due to anxiety. Will this person hurt me? What are they trying to get from me? Always in my head and as such I’ve decided to just accept the loneliness the past 40 years.

I would say that today, like always, there are good and bad kids with some being very mean.

What I think is different is that with social media, competition and jealousy, today’s parents are generally shittier in the aggregate and work overtime to shape their kids social media profile and popularity. If that has to be done at the expense of another child, their view is so be it. That didn’t happen when I was a kid. I had friends and they were outside.

NGL, I worry for my son because of things like this.

We live in a very rural area (no kids for miles) and my son goes to school out of district. He’s an only child and I worry for his social development. He started band this past year and it definitely appeals to him. Never really had a sports interest.

During school he’s fine, but summer time I worry about his (lack of) interaction with other kids.

You could send him to summer camp. That would be good for his social development and I know that you live in Floyd County. There are a few camps in NW GA IIRC.

Or take him camping at Sloppy Floyd State Park.

Agree with all of that. Especially the "Shaydon" part. Jeez.

And I also agree that posting something like that online isn't a good idea most likely. But I also get that it's trying to bring a message.

Feel bad for the kid though. I hope the parents get him into sports or some extracurricular activity.

I've been open about it, but some a-hole idiot kid spread a rumor that my psoriasis (which I couldn't do anything about) was a communicative disease. I went more than 3 quarters of a school year in a new school with nobody willing to sit near me, eat with me at lunch, and just be my friend. I don't even really blame him anymore, I blame the teachers that let that shite go unchecked. The only adults in the situation failed me to a degree that I know now is gross negligence. It's why I have issues with poor leaders, I have seen the ramifications.

Funny enough, when i was young there was a kid a few houses down that had no friends and sorta of kept to himself.

I actually went and talked to him one day and i was his first friend he ever had. Interesting thing is kid grew up and became a fairly famous plastic surgeon now days.

Still talk to the guy once a week and have spent quite a few vacations in Miami at his place and around women way out of my league lol.

It’s always good to just be nice to people that may be a little different that you are
