I find this so fricking weird. My whole family (parents, brother, sister and their kids) are on that shite, and it baffles me.

Eh, I've got a bunch of friends on there as well. Really helps when we're out on the lake, headed to an event, etc. and need to meet up.

I'm not hiding anything so I don't really care if people have my location.

Tell him there's porn of you and his mom online, he stands a chance of running into that.

There are better ways to handle this problem instead of being a helicopter parent.

OP's child is 11. When it comes to porn, I think you absolutely helecopter at that age. If he's 16 or 17, you give him a talk, then it's "don't ask/don't tell".

Yep. The occasional peek at something someone ditched in the woods or the 7-11 clerk who didn’t care. I was already an older teen by the time I could wait 24 hours for a pixelated image to load on my Amiga. And that was like an old-school calendar pinup. There was a VHS that made the rounds in the neighborhood and my mom found it.

The physical and strategic challenge was more fun than the actual material. Now it’s just brain-frying, soul-sucking limitless evil.

I mean, you obviously wanna do what you can to not have your kid looking at absurd hardcore porn, but you really got no chance to stop it entirely.

I’m mid-30s and have friends with kids who are starting to grow up. One of our buds with the oldest kids has an 8 year-old, and the other day he got on his iPad and the top 5 searches were:

-girls booties
-girls boobies
-best one handed catches
-girls private parts
-dude perfect

Lololololol. You can’t stop em, they’re boys.

LOL i remember visiting a bunch of porn sites and trading for pics in aol chat rooms back when we had dial up internet. My dad showed me he could see what i was doing because of the computer tracked the history. So then i just started deleting all the sites from the folder. When i got caught downloading pics i learned to keep them on a hard floppy. Everytime i was caught i never learned to stop, only how to get better at not getting caught. The drive to see naked women was higher than any punishment.

Old pornography was much more erotic and sexier. Now it’s just violent hatefricking where the women are treated like dogs.

I want to frick every whore from Timbuktu to Koreatown. Gather them all in a group and have a huge frick party at my place. Have them all line up one by one and suck my dick on the way out. Damn that would be awesome.

^^^This is the kind of shite that I’m talking about. 10+ years of watching hardcore pornography has absolutely rotted my brain and I don’t know how to stop it. OP, take heed from my advice about pornography. I am a living example of what happens when you view porn for years and years.

The upside though is that I’ve fricked my wife in every sex position you can think of, thanks to porn. :D

i'm a christian and have only had sex with my wife and while i'm sure every dude wants more like myself, it's mostly satisfying and regular enough. i'm also not a liar and admit i have looked at porn although i do put a lot of safeguards in place for myself to avoid it in my latter years.

i travel for a living and am a decent looking friendly guy. my opportunities to bang random women throughout the years in restaurants and hotels isn't 0, but i'm also not Henry Cavill hot where women are going to throw them at me. i've given a fair amount of rejections from that would have made for a fun night and nothing more.

just because i can have sex and look at porn without much immediate consequence doesn't mean that the long term consequence isn't there lingering.

porn is a lot like abortion and drug use. even though i consider myself a devout christian, i also don't think making laws banning things are a net positive and i consider myself much more libertarian than i do conservative at this point. i'd love for all those things to go away forever.

But... but.. I think it's OK for society to say certain things are permissible and not beneficial and make the bar pretty high to obtain to those things because they don't have a benefit to society.

Stop worrying about a technical solution and actually talk to your kid about why it’s bad for his brain?

As far as screen time settings on the iphone. I've got it on my 14 year olds phone. I think you can actually bypass it by telling it allow the site and restarting the app. I've screwed with it just to check but as far as I can tell mine has not allowed a site and made it work. I know when he was younger I blocked youtube and he definitely tried to allow it but because I had it blocked specifically it wouldn't work.

You can be an average looking guy and still get 9/10s and 10/10s if you have a big bank account. That’s really all you need nowadays.

Ok maybe I got a little off topic, but yeah I agree porn has long lingering effects. It definitely changes the way you view women. You start viewing women as sex objects and start to judge them more on their attractiveness rather than what’s on the inside, and THAT’S the main problem. I definitely agree that porn is degrading towards women.
