Keeping dogs from peeing/crapping on concrete?

We moved into a house a little over a year ago with a fenced in backyard. One of the selling points was that we could just let the dogs go outside instead of walking them. Back when we used to walk the dogs in our old neighborhood, they never crapped or peed on the concrete, they always went in the grass. Now, even on pleasant days they're too lazy to walk 75 feet to the grass and they go all over the steps and the patio. It's nasty to have to avoid landmines when I go to the garage, or my car, or the backyard. This morning, my wife slipped on dog crap and fell. Anyone have any recommendations to get the little rascals to use the lawn like God intended? I was looking online and they were suggesting spraying vinegar on the concrete and then scattering cayenne pepper. I like that suggestion, because it's a cheap, easy fix. Does this work?

Fence in an area in the grass and put them in there.

Sounds like little dog problems. Get yourself a better dog.

My Dobie likes to use the concrete as her catch all, especially when it rains. She doesn't like to get her feet wet. And if it's raining, forget about it.
But for most dogs, reward them for urinating and defecating on the grass, i.e. make a big deal of it by using voice inflexion, praise and reward with a treat. Rinse and repeat. And always make it fun and positive.
Over time, you should notice a gradual improvement.
If not, you can use a "shake can" to startle them (while catching them in the act) and redirect them into the grass area by either using a leash or picking up your pup and placing him in the yard. And then praise and reward with a treat.
He'll start to associate the grass and using the bathroom as something that is positive.
Or so it should work like that.

when catching in the act:
step one: remove belt
step two: whip said animal
step three: bring animal to correct spot in yard where they should urinate/defecate
step four: wait for them to go again
step five: "good dog"
rinse repeat as needed
some people pay good money for that advice

Try walking them in the yard, maybe after a few times they will figure out that's where they are supposed to go.

Should have gotten a cat.
So it can shite inside? And smell up the house?
I'd rather have to pick up dog crap than ever own a cat again.

They make good litter and self-scooping litter boxes these days. Cats could shite in one for a week and you'd never smell it.

Are these dogs reluctant to go into the grass at other times?

I have another question. My dog likes to chew on the door facing when we leave her outside. Any ideas on how to make her stop?

Rub Cayenne pepper where it's chewing. It'll learn

She either has separation anxiety or she is bored.
More than likely, if you exercise the shite out of her where you actually participate as well, this problem will go away.
