ETA Peacocking is not dressing nicely IMO. Loud shoes and other clothing will get you some wows and myabe some poon at the bar but it wont get you very far with respect from other men which is ultimately what you need to become successful.
Maybe I didn't make my point clear. I'm not set out to wear like the latest lime green Nikes or something -- I want the best of traditional menswear that people will know is nice, that's all. I feel like I will get some peacocking on my boots just like I did with my last pair of Lucchese -- they're normal boots but they're special at the same time. I like the compliments and I like the compliments unvoiced in people's heads.
