Just had adt guy walk up to my door to sell me a home alarm

I hope he was actually with adt and not scoping out my home! Do they still do door to door sales?
Edit: called the boys in blue just to be safe. Was told they know those guys are in the area from time to time and as of yet no trouble. Makes me feel a little better

I had a woman from "honeywell" come to my house once to have me do a "survey" for my alarm company.
Made no sense, told her to gtfo the neighborhood and she did immediately. Scam.

I have an ADT alarm system. Two weeks ago a guy claiming to be from ADT knocked on my door saying they were going to "upgrade my system". A few days later ADT sent an email saying there have been reports of scams in my neighborhood.

My grandfather told a guy doing this very thing that he had a Smith & Wesson for an alarm system.

Honestly that's a pretty common scam. I would be on alert. Maybe shoot a neighborhood cat or two and display them on your porch. I don't know, I'm just brainstorming over here.

Could be a scam but they commonly employ college students to go door to door during the summer. Saw a bunch of guys in ADT shirts eating the other day. They left the same time I did and I noticed all of them had plates from different states.
