I applied about 4 weeks ago, application typically takes 4 to 6 weeks

I was DENIED, reason given?

"no routine medical care"

IE, I do not have a primary care physician

that is actually a thread worthy topic in itself, my Doc got drummed out of business for "over prescribing" pain meds

he was a long standing, popular and successful doctor, even a daily guest on a popular radio show...

anyway, I go to the doc in a box if I need to, but not often

I just got denied coverage from Accuquote because of the Chinese Virus

good thing I don't have the sniffles or a fever...

so go to the doctor once a year and get a physical...this really isn't that hard

Seems like an easy fix

I haven't been to a Dr since 2014. And that was only to do a physical so my company would give me $500. That is a ridiculous reason to not be able to get life insurance.

I can imagine a time like now is not the time to be getting life insurance.

To them, this is like trying to get flood insurance when there is a storm in the gulf.

Preventative care would be an important factor when deciding whether or not you're going to pay out a large sum of money when someone does, would it not?

How? He could have all kinds of health problems that he doesn't know about because he only goes to an urgent care when he gets the sniffles.

You need to apply for a “simplified policy “with another carrier. You don’t have to have a provider or even any kind of real medical professional history. No exam is required, they just do a prescription check.

It's almost as though insurance is this thing you pay into so you have financial support available if it's ever needed. Too bad you can't just wait until you're about to die; that'd be so much cheaper.

I get letters from AAA every week

as a 51 yrs old tobacco user, they want $146 a month for $100K

this policy was going to be $105 a month for $250K

10 yr level term

the wife has $300K through her job as a public teacher and she has been nagging me to do the same

I finally said yes

100% denied because of Wuhan Flu

Because the company is supposed to underwrite based on information that can be proven, not information that may or may not be true. They’re not allowed to imagine what could be wrong. They’re only allowed to use info that’s available.

Discriminate against him based on current and past health, age, occupation, and sometimes even family health history but they are not allowed to discriminate against him based upon a LACK of information.
