I don't post often and this is not being done for sympathy although prayers will not turned down. Just a reminder:

If you are 50+ or your SO is 50+ get a colonoscopy.

For those younger than 50, if you have a family history, get a colonoscopy.

As for me, there is a small chance of the cancer spreading. It has been recommended that I have a section of colon removed so I will see a doctor for that then probably get a second opinion.

It is a shock when you first find out, but it is time to kick cancers arse.

First home after 8 day stay for colon romoval. Work is all done and all should good. Thank God for my wife and kids, doctors and nurses, especially those techs who can wipe for you when you cant, and finally for Depends because there is a lot of sharting when colon starts to work again

Good post. A colonoscopy isn't that bad of a procedure. I'm only 31 and I had one back in June. The hardest part was the prep and that actually wasn't that bad. The most uncomfortable part of the entire process was writing a $2000 check. It was well worth it after finding out that everything was ok.

ETA: Good luck, BTW

OP, one of my nieces is going thru that. She has been fighting for 2 years. She is only 35. My oldest brother passed at 40. Many of my family members had colon cancer including my Mom and Dad.

Good luck and prays sent.

Without insurance, yes. Insurance normally covers a colonoscopy 100% if it's preventative. But mine was considered diagnostic and I had to come out of pocket. I also had an endoscopy performed and I believe that cost more than colon

My MD wants me to get an endoscopy to look into my stomach for pre-cancer or cancer.

Then if they find it, oh boy.

I am encouraged by the fortitude of those reported to have beat it.
People of strength and character, and including their loved ones.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer when I had my first colonoscopy in 2006.

Lots of emotions involved but if it's caught early (which yours sounds like it was) it is highly curable.

You can beat it.
