They seem to be out early and in large numbers.

Anyone else seeing this?

Started here about a week ago and they seem larger than usual. My pool is full of them.

None here in North AL yet. I know, because I haven't had one crash land into my ear hole yet.

Every....damn.......year.

Strangely enough, I haven’t seen one in my area.

They have descended on la casa de FCP. Drove into town this evening, and didn't see any. When we turned into our driveway coming home, there were thousands of them dive-bombing my pickup. Carport is littered with carcasses--to the point that my kids are scooping them up daily and feeding the chickens. We always get a bunch, but there are WAY more this year.

I did a lot of yard work over the weekend. They were everywhere. It sounded like I was surrounded by rattlesnakes working over by the barn. Hundreds of june bugs spazzing out on the metal siding.

Mine are a little later. She laid her fifth, and last, egg three days ago and is on the nest now. If she can hatch and fledge all five that will be great. They usually don't fledge five. I also have two pair of tree swallows nesting now and another pair of blue birds.

I saw this yesterday:

I caught the last bit of the shed. If I had been maybe five minutes earlier I could have gotten the whole process.

That's a good meal for them, too!

i'm guessing none of the babies would take it...there was a bunch of chattering in the nest, daddy went down inside and came out with the june bug and dropped it on the ground...
