JPSO also claims that the kid's BAC was 8x the legal limit for a kid his age.

That's like maybe 6 beers for a kid his size. Let's not act like it's anything that would make you incoherent.

This is not what Police are paid to do and it is this mindset which causes problems for police.

He dang sure wasnt complying.

Not complying is not a blank check to for cops to use any type of force deemed necessary. The fall back position when anything like this happens is "well he wasn't complying" like that means anything is fair game.

Negative.

Even more than the beating, the entire situation here is screwed up. Becker is a punk and deserved an a55 kicking, just not from this cop. Protect and serve shouldn't mean obey or get your arse kicked, even at Mardi Gras.

At the very beginning of the video the kid isn't even struggling and is on the ground. The officer in the leather jacket wasn't doing shite to help. A simple second set of hands and they could've had that kid's hands behind his back. The way they handled the whole ordeal was piss poor.

So the new video still dont show everthing. He was on the ground with the suspect, dont know why he could turn the boy over for cufffing or if the boy was resisting. He dang sure wasnt complying. He's pulled up partially and from my perspective, he was thrown back down probably to try and gain a better position. It didnt work obviously. So now junior decides its ok to grab onto the officers leg, big freaking no no. It escalated further due to junior not submitting to the officer, hence punches. Face it when dealing with the law it isnt going to be a fair fight. Submit and fight it in court becuae nothing would have happened to this kid. Instead he resisted and even if he gets paid, he's still the a-hole who got bitch slapped for being a little shite.

What did the kid do to instigate this again? I've heard too many different things to know what is currently accepted as fact.

Go frick yopurself.

The sheriff is a fricking liar. The 1/2 bottle of Crown Royal was actually a Kentwood water bottle with 2 shots of crown and filled with coke. One cop say's Becker could not stand up, now the sheriff says he was walking around talking on his phone. Another cops said they kept pulling over for Becker to throw up . But his friends I've spoken with followed the police to the station and say the never stopped once.

I love when our uneducated cop friends come on here to enlighten us on how they have full authority to kick our arse at all times.

Maybe he should have used his training and experience as you noted earlier and used an appropriate amount of force. Or maybe one of the other officers standing around could have helped him with the drunk teenager.

Your comment shows the problem with many cops now days there is no middle ground. You are either 100% complaint or you are resiting. I really hope you arent to dense to see many other ways this situation could have been handled and don't well the kid should have just complied.

I didn't imply the extreme intoxication the incident report from JPSO did.

They claim he says he drank a half bottle of crown.

Becker was booked with inciting a riot, resisting an officer, battery on a police officer and being in possession of alcohol while under age 21. The Sheriff's Office says that after the arrest, Becker said he drank a half-bottle of Crown Royal.

Again supporting Breaux's behavior, Normand said that the deputies drove about eight parking spaces when Becker told them he had to vomit. The officers stopped, the sheriff said. "Officer Breaux assisted him, and officer Breaux gave him a bottle of water," Normand said.

It's important to note that the cop is also training to be an MMA type fighter. He has a lot of work to do if a drunk teenager is too much for him to handle.

Just to be clear how drunk he was, he was at .14 correct? I've always been told all it takes to get to .08 (legal adult driving limit) is 2 beers in one hour. So let's estimate he had 4 beers in an hour. It would take a lot more than that to get me drunk to the point where I can't control myself. The 7x number sounds great for character assassination and all though. Funny that he fails to mention the track record of this police officer when it comes to excessive force cases. Per usual though instead of looking at the actual incident at hand, the police try the character assassination tactic.
