Louisiana good ole Baw politics at its finest. We've all got way to many friends and family waiting on this help for damn near a year and we have people doing this.
The Advocate
The Advocate
quote:
State officials have been preparing to award a lucrative contract to a management firm to oversee the rebuilding program for Louisiana flood victims. After reviewing five proposals, state officials decided to award a $250 million contract to North Carolina-based IEM. However, the award was tossed out after the attorney for the state Licensing Board for Contractors said that IEM and the second-place bidding firm PDRM didn't have the proper contracting licenses at the time they submitted their proposals
quote:
"The Division of Administration and the committee Gov. Edwards put in charge of the recovery have once again turned in a Three Stooges-like performance," Kennedy said in a statement. "The legal opinion they relied on, done by an attorney (and former state senator) whose son worked for one of the contract bidders, has now resulted in even further delay in getting money that the U.S. Congress appropriated seven months ago in the hands of our people."

Notice how WBRZ/WAFB fail to report on this corruption.

That's how our state govt has operated since April 30, 1812. Unfortunately, regardless of who we elect, I don't foresee any changes.

John Kennedy is a good egg.

It's amazing that people hardly ever go to jail for this shite.

I've basically grown to despise our government at all levels. It has no interest in doing the job of representing the people at all.

I fricking hate this state.

John Kennedy's people must work for the 3rd place contractor.

There's more to the story. The former senator who's the representing attorney is a convicted felon.

I hate this state sometimes.
We should burn Baton Rouge (the state gov, not the city) down.

Except him and Cassidy both signed HJ Res 86. Not a good egg no matter how you spin it.

That's in the article.

yeah, makes me wonder why C. Nok isn't prowling the halls of the state legislature instead of investigating nooses in the LP or brown water in St.Helena. I mean I'm all for his bulldog mentality, but use it somewhere thats really beneficial.
But I know WWL wont say anything bad about JBE either. I guess our Guv is the white version of Obama where the press is concerned.

Former Democratic Louisiana Senator Larry Bankston- Felon
quote:
In an escalating feud, state Attorney General Jeff Landry asked Gov. John Bel Edwards' administration to justify why a felon should serve as legal counsel for the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. Landry, who was recently involved in controversy over hiring a felon in his own office, said in a letter to the board's executive director that an explanation is needed for retaining Larry Bankston, a former Democrat state senator from Baton Rouge who served 41 months in prison for a 1997 conviction on a video-poker related bribery scheme.
