Does anyone have experience with taking a trip in one? Thinking of getting one, but was worried as to how it does on trips?

Just ordered a 2014 in granite crystal to replace my 2 door 2010 jk. It's awesome. Of course I drive a manual but it has cruise control. Just know that it's a very loud interior.

I love taking road trips in mine.

However I do know people that hate it, so I guess it just depends on you.

I was thinking about getting one of these with a hardtop as my next car. Not sure if it's worth it or not yet.

Before I lifted and killed the creature comfort of mine it was great for trips. Would recommend one without question.

Fwiw, with the old engine I was able to do 72 and maintain right at 20mpg to and from Destin a couple times.

I've always wanted one with a Manual and Roll Up windows. Would love to buy the entry level one and do everything myself.

We drove to Utah in my husband's Unlimited Rubicin last summer. No problems.

It's actually difficult to find manual Jeeps. When they do pop up at a dealership they go quick

it has many trade offs in comparison. People will tell you its great and they are the same, but not really. they are just mitigating the trade offs to satisfy their purchase. Its a great vehicle, I own one, but it does not compare to a normal vehicle as far as comfort and drivability. Many people buy them and trade them in after a short period.

Are the hardtops relatively quiet? or still noisy? also is it roomy? They look spacious on the outside but the driver\passenger seats don't look to spacious

I love my Sahara and my husband loves his Rubicon.

Both ours are hardtops.

I've never had more fun driving a vehicle before.

I had a 2010 with the old 3.8 and hated it. I didn't mind the ride, comfort level, or the road noise, but hated the lack of power. The 3.6 is supposed to be much better though.

I really like driving with the windows down and roof open, like any douchebag would. So I feel like taking it to the next level with a Jeep.

Hardtops are MUCH quieter than soft tops. They aren't that difficult to take off...just needs 2 people and place to store hardtop at.

Seats are comfy to me as well. Backseat easily folds down to give you more cargo room if you want.

The new trans is the key component of that

You can also leave the hardtop on and take the panels off over the driver and passengers
