According to this article
The whole article makes me feel as if I am losing my mind.
It doesn't seem real that we are now in a time where our governor will not allow life to continue as normal until individual citizens have taken blood tests or a vaccine.

This is why we continue to say the most important thing we can do is to get a vaccine that will allow us to really change the way that we’re managing measures and allow us to go to some semblance of where we were before,” he said.
“Until we have a vaccine and a robust immunity that will last much longer than months or years, it’s gonna be really hard to pull those things back.

And only when serology testing is widely available will state leaders begin seriously considering relaxing some of the mitigation measures in place, Gov. John Bel Edwards said.

Our CEO mentioned the other day that we will likely continue to work from home until June 1st.

Indefinite shut down. I hope people are not surprised when he extends this through May. It’s coming.

The people will revolt, and protest. The CoonAsses will go on with life as normal

Such shitty leadership. Anybody know the process for removing a governor from office??

The article clearly states they intend to keep the mitigation in place indefinitely, and it will certainly be a lot longer than May unless something changes his mind.

the folks of La will decide whether the state will open for business on May 1.
JBE just doesn't know it yet

April 30th, then I’m getting getting Braxdyn and the boys back on the diamond.

Weird how “flatten the curve” just disappeared.

All sports are cancelled until 2021 at least unless JBE changes his mind. And schools won't open in the fall.

They do indeed. When JBE's term is done there needs to be an accounting. How many Louisiana jobs that existed at the start of his term are no longer there? How many people will have left the state?

That’s fine about school. Brax already told that teachin lady he don’t like that school. But we playing ball if I have to build a field of dreams somewhere out in the woods. They coming

It's pretty clear he is going to extend to June, he just canceled school for the rest of the year and keeps saying that the numbers are bad.
He first canceled school until spring break before locking down the state a week later. Pattern for JBE
I think he is giving teachers and parents a heads up before extending the lock down.
At first they told us it was to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the hospitals. The curve has flattened, none of the states are anywhere where near running out of ventilators, and hospitals have plenty of room. Even NY doesn't need all their vents and are sending them to other states.
This lock down is about something else. Now all the states are talking about performing blood tests for antibodies and requiring people have a certificate or biological passport before being allowed to go to work, have sporting events, etc.
Do you know how long it's going to take for them to test 350MM people? This is some f'd up shite from any angle: not practical, invasion of privacy, expensive, damages the economy, etc.
Don't be so hard on JBE, all the governors are saying the same thing. It's coming down from the fed.
It's in the commercials they are airing, this is the "new normal".

The state will be shut down until we know every 95 year old and 500 pound person is safe :)

It’s amazing that people can’t or won’t see that government never gives up their over reach authority. Which is why people fight it so hard to begin with.

And the tens of thousands that have already crossed the Sabine during his first term were not the ones dying from Covid or sitting on their front porch waiting for their monthly check from da gubberment. It was people that took six figure jobs with them. And Honor Choade DGAF as long as he still has companies here to tax and/or sue.
