In Florida of course.
WELLINGTON, FL --
A Florida landscaper who ran over a family of ducks with his riding lawnmower has been sentenced to a year in jail.
A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 24-year-old Jason Scott Falbo II last week after he pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty charges.
Authorities say Falbo mowed down the ducks May 2 at the home of a family caring for them in Wellington. Police say nine ducklings died, while their mother and two ducklings survived.
The family says the ducklings were just a few days old. Boyd Jentzsch told police his family, including his 7-year-old son, watched from inside their home, screaming as the ducks were run over.
Also last week, Falbo pleaded guilty to domestic battery in an unrelated incident about a month before the duckling deaths.
Edited to put in small article.

This guy is going to enter the prison having negative jail cred.

If I could I'd run over him with a lawn mower

Read it as "Jail time for murderous spree of ducks". Came to thread, looked at the link. Now disappointed.

Im glad he's going to jail, but it does seem a little excessive.

Prison is very, very hard on people who hurt ducks. - Rust Cohle

Wow. Shitty thing to do but not sure the punishment fits the crime. A year of your life lost for this? An entire year?

They should have hammered his arse with federal game charges.
Over the daily bag limit
Wanton Waste
Taking ducks out of season
Taking ducks without a license
etc., etc., etc...

This is minor compared to what Capt St and his A5 do to the migratory waterfowl population each winter.

This guy is for sure a dick and I would be pissed if I saw him do it. But who thinks to call the cops?

Cost more to hit a duck on LSU campus than it does to hit a person outside of a crosswalk.
Not like I have any experience with that though. Just a random piece of knoeledge I have collected.
It certainly didn't happen my freshmen year.

Probably the family who cared for the ducks who were watching and screaming from the window. They probably considered them pets.
