As LSU and the state of Louisiana continue to dry off and put their lives back together after the terrible flooding that hit them last week, many band programs are reaching out to show their support.
JSU will travel to LSU this fall for their away game road trip making this even more meaningful as LSU will have a chance to meet them in person.

Share and enjoy this great tribute by Ken Bodiford and the Marching Southerners.

On another topic, LSU fans are going to be blown away by that band. They are incredible and on a different level than SEC bands.

Well.........not every SEC band. Auburn could hold their own, maybe Texas A&M too. But LSU's band is in big trouble, especially since their numbers are down this year.....usually the band has to make cuts to get down to 325, this year they are well under 300.

The LSU band (and fans) is in for a big surprise......especially with the LSU band down in numbers this year (and different instrumentation..less brass & more woodwinds).

I don't think LSU fans are gonna care much. We've seen good opposing bands before.

You bash the Tiger Band in pretty much every thread. We know the numbers are down. We know you aren't a fan of the current band administration. If they suck, hopefully something will be done. Until that happens, can you please give it a rest?

If people like us don't call attention to what happened (and the consequences), then the injustice will go (as you say) un-noticed. Don't you think the fans "should care" about what has happened?

I'm don't approve of how the Roy King situation was handled, and I'm certainly no fan of F. King Alexander, Todd Queen, or Joe Alleva. All I'm saying is that we should wait and see how Tiger Band looks before we bash them. It's not the kids' fault after all. If they stink and numbers continue to drop, then I'm all for making a change. The current LSU administration has been slowly ruining many of our beloved traditions. I don't want TGBFTL to join that number.

I agree 100%. Is it possible to point out things the band administration is doing to ruin the band's traditions (excellence, quality, recruiting, retention, etc), and have it not interpreted as "bashing the kids?"

That's the attitude that keeps people like Joe Alleva, F King, etc. in their positions (long enough to do REAL harm to our university). Thanks.

No, I'm just saying I don't shite my pants over the band and band drama. As long as they do the pre-game and play the 1st down, Chinese Bandits, etc. I'm good. I don't particularly care for Alleva and loathe F King, so you can save that.
