Counterpoint: It doesn't matter if it's right, it's the law.

You can get a DWI for .02. .08 is just the presumption you were intoxicated

I refuse to drive if I've had anything to drink, but I understand and respect the law in addition to my lack of knowledge of what my BAC is at any given second.

Whenever you actually recognize that you don't know and understand the consequences, it's really easy to adhere to .08

you can get charged with it with 0.00

the cop just has to deem you impaired, you would more than likely beat it but it will be about the same hassle and expense as actually being covicted

ETA: USAA, and they're probably not the only one, will drop you, for life, just for being charged

I wish, no pics from me either. I know, down vote away, I don't look.
Nola.com has it. Bad situation for all involved.

To be sure relevent to the thread, I do respect it and try every solution before driving after drinking.

Thing is, individually, I know I'm not too impaired to drive after 2-3 beers. For a blanket to be thrown over people using an arbitrary number just seems way too stringent. As an example, it's legal to be prescribed pain meds of a higher mg simply due to the way the body reacts/metabolizes. Everyone is different. Same will alcohol, I'm sure.

Way too low.

I would be a fan of 0.12 BAC.

I love it whenever one of their big shots get popped, used to be every year or so, maybe they've gotten better at covering it up

Damn some real hard asses in here. Why y'all trying to split hairs on BAC? How about just don't drink and drive. Just because the OT dudes can put down a case and drive doesn't mean the law should change.

Too low. I don't even feel a buzz from beer until I've had at least a sixer. But I'm sure my bac is well in excess of .08 by then.
