NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans nurse on the front lines of the COVID-19 health crisis is describing what he and his coworkers are battling.

WDSU is not identifying the nurse or the hospital where he is employed.

He said they are given protective gear and have to reuse it over and over again. “We are repeatedly reusing gear and equipment that we are not supposed to. As we use this equipment more and more it fails and people are getting sick. Honestly, as health care we weren’t prepared for this. We saw it coming. We didn’t have action plans that were suitable until the time came, now we are being more reactive than proactive we have to change that," he said. "It’s terrifying from the health care worker standpoint.

A lot of nurses I know are daily breaking down emotionally they are crying they are terrified." He said the situation is getting dangerous and worse daily.

They should take it up with the people who run the hospital.

I paid $1,100 for blood work in December. BLOOD WORK. Insurance paid the other $2,600. I would also like to know what they are doing with all that money.

That money is going into the pockets of the CEO and Board of Directors.

What isn't being brought up is the burn rate and culture of waste hospitals are used to. Maybe now they'll learn to be better custodians of the resources they have.

Maybe some but you are mostly offsetting Medicare and Medicaid patients with your private insurance.

Our dipshit-in-chief fearless leader:

The crisis is "an unforeseen problem" that "came out of nowhere," Trump said on March 6. "We're having to fix a problem that, four weeks ago, nobody ever thought would be a problem," he said on March 11. "It's something that nobody expected," he said again on March 14.

Rep. Haley Stevens of Michigan was wearing latex gloves on the floor of the House today. Apparently Congress has no problem getting gloves.

BREAKING NEWS:

New Orleans is full of corrupt and incompetent leaders.

No wonder they are the example of what not to do every time there is an emergency.

The hospital is using it to cover all the services provided to patients without insurance. Profit margins at hospitals are very thin.

FIFY.

Hospitals are violating hundreds of protocols right now but nobody cares because nobody is going to enforce them right now.

I know for a fact over 2 million n95 mask and surgical gloves are on the way and will/were either delivered today or they will be this weekend. As well as surgical gowns and Tyvek Suits.

Hospitals are always trying to find ways to save money. The culture of waste is a product of litigation and bureaucracy.

That money is used to cover the deficit in costs from Medicare and Medicaid.

Walmarts can still be fully restocked each evening with new inventory of Pringles, pop tarts, milk, etc., but we can’t move available medical supplies across state lines to fill places of critical needs in the span of a couple of days?
