It's my birthday tomorrow...

The big 3-8.
2016 has been a horrible year for a lot of folks around me. I hurt for them. It makes me feel guilty admitting what I'm about to say. But it's been the best year of my entire life.
Got a promotion. Went back to school. Started a small business as a 2nd job. Got some new work certifications. Moved some elderly family closer. Survived the flood. Paid off debt. Celebrated yet another anniversary with the wife.
I have a great family, a roof over my head, a great job and a loving wife. Hell I even got to fish about 2,000% more this year than anytime in the past decade and-perhaps most importantly-my liquor cabinet is stocked with brown water.
Still post stupid shite from time to time (I can depend on y'all to check my arse when that happens) but all in all, life is pretty damned good.
Happy New Years, y'all. Stay dry and stay safe.

Good for you. A few years ago I had a birthday year like that- I took part of my day and gave some money away to folks in need. I told them I wanted to share my birthday with them!
