I'm wondering if the opposite is true. That the word holocaust was common until The Nazi's took it to an ungodly level and raised the bar on what it took to be a "holocaust".

That is still the second largest nightclub disaster in American history. Newspaper writers were much more colorful back then. Holocaust didn't have the same connotation it does now.

The club stood two blocks from my kids school. Memorial there now. Very tragic.

Article says most of the victims were 15 or 16 years old.

That's a tragedy. I'm into ethnic ladies. I bet a couple of the victims were smoking.

That article is very descriptive.

I noticed that right away. SO much info in there compared to some of the crap I read on the local news sites.

Not to be an a-hole, but why is this sentence even in your post?

75 years ago. One of the worst nightclub disasters ever. Not one mention of it in the local media this year in the Jackson area.

The Great White one. I'll never forget this. When it first hit the news they showed the moments of everyone just before the band. Very sad

I'm thinking about taking the front pages from 1940 and posting the ones that are WWII related. It's one thing to read about it in books or wathc movies. Another to see on a day by day basis.

At this time the Finnish war was real interesting.
