I don’t believe in climate change or global warming or any of that, but I’m 42 and I just don’t think it was this hot when I was growing up. It was hot, but I remember playing outside all day. I remember not having AC in school til 3rd grade. Some older folks when I was growing up would just use fans and wouldn’t run the AC. This heat I just feels different, I don’t know if the government is doing this or what.

I’m 42 and don’t remember any of that shite except playing outside. Everyone had AC.

It did used to be this hot. Back then you were used to the heat, but modern amenities have made people become accustomed to AC, cooling zones, etc.

you get used to it if you stay outdoors. It sucks but you gotta suck it up for a while and your body will adapt

I remember heat waves growing up, but not quite this extended. This is an anomaly. Sack up and fight thru. Stop being a pussy!

Remember, it's helping keep the storms away.

We've had highs in the 100s for ten straight weeks now. This hasn't happened at all in recent memory period.

You spend much more of your time in A/C now than you did back then.

Also, depending on when you grew up, it may not have been this hot. Average temp could have been a few degrees off. Or it could have been hotter. When I was growing up, the average July temp isn't very different than it is today. 1 degree or so variance in both directions. So yes, it was this hot.

Air conditioning has rendered us all wusses. The temps some of the folks I work with say they set their thermostats at is unbelievable, it's no wonder they can't acclimate.

That's because it wasn't. 15 consecutive days of 100+ degrees where I'm at. That has never happened before. Gotta go back 60+ years for anything close to that.

Anybody in the deep south that says "it's like this every summer" is full of shite.

We're averaging almost 10 degrees hotter than normal.

In 2012 San Antonio had over 70 straight days of 100 degree heat. It’s always been this, we just have more pussys on plantet earth now that bitch about everything.
