'twas an exaggeration. I do know my history. They had 10s of thousands though. Point was there were thought to be unbeatable due to the scope of their military--look at them compared to ISIS in their retired plumbing trucks and idiots shooting RPGs out of tiny rooms. Obama wants me to believe that they're really hard to defeat---come on. You just have to want to defeat them...

ETA: The US had a frick-ton more tanks in WWII, the Germans just had superior tanks.
