Is there a free program like Snag-it to make screen cap videos?

I need to make a video of a click-through demo for work and don't want to fork out the money for just this one ~5-6min video.

It needs to be able to capture mouse movements/clicks as well as voice.

TIA.

If you purchased such an app for the purpose of work couldn't you just write it off?

My boss wouldn't approve that shite... he only approves travel expenses.

I'm taking initiative and going to pass it out to my team... he said he likes the way I present the demo and I'm trying to get in the good graces with *HIS* boss.

If you were a pirate that lived by the bay you could download something like Bandicam or Dxtory for free.

I thought about that...

But it's got to be downloaded to my work laptop and I'm not interested in losing my job.

Put it on a USB and move it to the laptop.

Do I have to think of everything for you?

Download it toba different laptop. Transfer via thumb drive. Install. Make video. Uninstall.

Does your company use Microsoft Lync? I've used Lync meeting to do this, and just recorded the meeting.

Winner. This is a brilliant idea.

to all you wanting me to install pirated software on my work pc... Just because it's not "downloaded" on the pc, IT still monitors and sometimes has to approve third-party installations.

eta: does it capture voice? Or just screen and maybe the camera?

Yes it does.

I just set up a conference call and only invited myself.

Or if you wanted to do it as a training and record the whole thing that works too. Not as easy as SnagIt, but it works.
