Staying with relevant folks of today's generation:

Justin Timberlake is on par if not better for same genre/style. Very talented dude.

I hear Michael Buble is from folks who've seen the show but I don't like that music.

but that Bruno is definitely awesome.

ETA: yes good nods for Foo Fighters and Keith Urban. Add Kenny Chesney to that as he works a crowd(even the gays!) very well.

It also doesn't hurt that his band is amazing too. There's a ton of talent on the stage when Bruno performs.

Very good point. I had the lucky chance to get to see Elton John FOR FREE here in BR couple years ago. His band was amazeballs. And that brings something special to a show for even the most accomplished performer that most don't even realize unless they have ear for music.

Very good point as well. He has to be in this discussion.

My dad, who is in now way a fan of his music, rambled on and on about him after his first SNL performance. Couldn't get over how talented he is.

Have you seen him? Dude us amazingly talented with the guitar, adm several other instruments. Goes into the crowd a lot during his show. Usually gives away one of his guitars. It's a fun show.

He really is, trolling or not. We are talking performers here, not just talent.

Case and Point: Celine Dion is awkward as frick on stage but her talent makes her bazillions b/c hearing her live is something special. Other folks make it by working the crowd, catchy songs, and having fun like country dudes Urban, Brooks, and Chesney.
