Surprised it took 2nd page to get sketchers mentioned.

When I hear sketchers I think of little kidz saturday morning commercials, and old people comfort shoes.

Definitely true, but Sketchers has actually started making legit running shoes.

See my experience is different. Being a teenager in the 90s, Skechers were young gun shoes. Every girl that I knew wore Skechers because Britney Spears wore them and made them popular.

Take the New Balance 624 for instance.

I can picture a lawn being mowed in these right now.

My dad died in December of 1967. Thanks for bringing that up.

Skechers for women (and Tony Romo) and New Balance for men. At some point, both sexes will end up in a sexy pair of SAS's though.

Note to self: Go buy some New Balance shoes. Awesome stuff here, thanks. What else can I do to proudly flaunt my non-millennial status?

You are correct, but that cross trainer style was popular among all ages during the 1990s.

New Balance was fratastic in the 90s for sure. I started wearing NB in college and never stopped because they are a really good shoe although I don't wear athletic shoes much anymore outside of actually working out. These are the ones I currently have:

Propet is the universal old-people shoe, but pretty much anything with velcro.

You certainly picked the wrong shoe to demonstrate. That's a good looking shoe.
