The guys who recorded that also observed a bat winged demon fly out of the pit and spit fire before descending back down.

Like that even matters. You could cure cancer, find a way to regrow limbs and be responsible for peace in the Middle East but unless you have accepted Christ as your lord and savior you will spend eternity in a lake of fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What you are missing is that your friend is lucky now that he is at home with our Father. Life on Earth is miserable, now he is living a perfect life in heaven. So...you tell me why?

Every culture has some reference to hell or a hell-like existence. Really makes you wonder how we all reached the same conclusion--that something bad is out there.
Because a great way to control people and make them do things (not revolt, give you money, whatever) is to convince them that there is some omnipresent horror awaiting them for eternity if you don't do what they want. And, good vs. evil is not a new concept...not to mention that the whole concept of a God(s) was a "logical" way to describe natural phenomena back before science was able to.

So why don't we all just off ourselves?

So if hell is in the core of the Earth.. Where is heaven?

So just accept him because you are afraid, right? No real belief necessary

I kind of liken it to Santa. When you're a kid, you truly believe with your heart that Santa is real, and just assume that he is all powerful and can actually deliver toys to a couple billion children in one night...because that's what you were raised to believe. But then your parents stop reinforcing it, you start to hear things from other children, and think about it yourself, and realize it's not true, nor is it possible.
Religion is like the Santa that your parents keep reinforcing, without the factual evidence (parents admission, presents stop showing) of it not being real. Many/most people choose to continue to believe it despite the fact that it logically makes no sense, can be explained away as "natural occurences" and things like that.
But all that being said, I have no problem with people believing whatever they want, so long as they don't push it on me or others. Have at it!

Well, and as someone else mentioned, 2,000 degrees is pretty hot, considering that most metals melt at that temperature, so pretty safe to say there are some fair questions to be asked about the details of this story. I, for one, am not taking it as Gospel (pun intended).

Absurd to even wonder if it's real... of course.. but damn, what a great sound profile!
