Is terrorism spreading because of the Internet?

I have to think it is. It makes it easy for terror groups to spread their message, recruit and communicate. If the internet didn't exist today I don't think we would see as much organized terrorism as we see today.

Yeah. But so is porn.

It's a double edged sword.

I, for one, will accept the tiny risk of a terrorist attack in order to be able to effortlessly look at naked pictures of your mom.

Yes. Before social media they really were limited in ways to reach people. Now they reach the world and all it takes is a small amount to become engaged to make havoc.

Terrorism is spreading due to ideology.

Well, yeah.

Social media has made international contact so easy now, it's beyond simple for these assholes to recruit people overseas. Not to mention how the deep web (using torbrowser, which masks your IP and bounces it around the world via proxies) is a cespool of recruiting activity.

Hell, ISIS even uses XBL and PSN network to recruit via their closed networks. Party chat is a method they use to coordinate and plan strikes.

The news of terrorism is spreading on the internet. It's always been there.

I think it'd make it harder for the message to take hold...

They're literally emulating 4chan in their internet presence. They just claim they're doing everything and it spreads.

All you need is disaffected, aimless youths without purpose and someone to blame.

Young people need to be put to some constructive use or they become a destructive force.

I posted this on the big thread but just seeing what y'all thought,

What if these guys tried to do
That an lsu tailgate or any tailgate party? crowded area some drunk people sitting down watching games everybody just minding their business. How about right before the games when people are standing in line to get in with their tickets. What if they brought 20 people instead of 2 or 3?
