Is it necessary to wash a shoe shine buffing cloth or do you just keep using it?

I have slowly built my shoe care kit with the buffing cloth being the last piece on the way. This cloth will get some amount of polish in it so should it be washed or does that not matter?

Had to shine boots every night for years. Once you have the technique down all you need is an applicator brush, a buffing brush, an old t-shirt, and a few drops of water. Oh, edge dressing and a toothbrush to hit the sides of the sole. Just throw out the t-shirt when completely used.

I've got my fathers old wooden box he had in WWII and I guarantee the cloth is almost as old. I shine every so often just for the smell and the memories.

I didn't much like the ACU's when they came out but glad they went to the tan rough-out leather...
I also have a sent of the old GI black boots in my closet. Never worn, never seen a lick of Parade Gloss, still have that plastic coating on the leather.
