OP is definitely not pulling a 36' fifth wheel across the Rocky Mountains.

I've had mine for 6 years it's 2011 been a great truck. It'll pull the gates off of hell. I got mine deleted a couple years ago to combat the sensor I had go out. You won't go wrong if you take care of it by changing all of your filters regularly. Don't let the pussies driving priuses hate on your dream truck! You won't regret buying one!

Ford is WAY over priced and their engines just don't last and the MPG on them is pure trash compared to other diesels. You've got to make mad RPM's before getting torque from it, so it wastes fuel and it contributes to mechanical issues.

No.
If you can put 30k of equity into it and finance the remaining 28k (yes they can be had that cheap), your note will be roughly 500 a month. Then, you drive it for two years putting less than 18k miles per year. At said time, you trade it in on another.
If you do it this way, you will essentially pay $600 bucks a month to drive an f250. You also won't have to buy tires or do maintenance.
The idea here, is you are essentially paying a low price for a lease.
Your trade in will always be about 40k or so after tax credit.
Not a terrible idea if you just want the truck.

Yes. I had a 06 131000 miles and took very good care of it. Traded it in a few months ago on a 17. If you do go 3/4 ton get the diesel the resale on the gas ones is not near as high and you will not get jack on trade. Even being a crappy 6.0 I still got $12,500 in trade on mine at almost 11 years old.
I wouldn't buy a used one older than 2013.

Still running a 2004 Dodge with the 5.9L Cummins. 200K and only been in the shop once when it was less then a month old. 6500lb truck and gets 22mpg if I drive it 45 or85 mph.
The new crap they selling just sucks the big one.

If you have to pull something that's heavy occasionally, get a two or three year-old unfancy gas-burner 3/4 ton truck and park it the other 340+ days of the year.
If you need a diesel weekly, then do it and prepare thy anus as it is quite the annual premium over a half-ton pickup.
I can have a 3/4 or one ton through my work and instead drive a Grand Cherokee.

Everybody hat has the ford diesels that I know have had a lot of troubles. Old and new. I would go with the duramax.

No reason to drive a 3/4 ton diesel unless you need it
