CNN Article - October 26

quote:

A picnic, an afternoon of kite flying and a drug haul worth more than $5 million -- it wasn't quite the day trip Michael Vaughan had bargained for when he and his family headed to the beach. Three months after Vaughan came across a strange-looking, 2.5-meter-long torpedo-like canister that washed ashore near Liscannor, Ireland, authorities announced the discovery of 75 kilograms of cocaine worth a street value of 5 million euros ($5.4 million).

Sounds like some folks enjoyed a 90-day bender.

"We went to lift it, but it was so heavy -- you'd need more than a couple of people to shift it, " he told CNN. "We just left it in the end -- perhaps if it was lighter we might have taken it home."

Hit the gym, you just missed out on $5mil.

Does processed coke get old or lose potency? I know manufactured drugs do but cocaine hcl is a natural product so I really don't know... Anyone?

I don't think there has ever been "old cocaine" but that doesn't answer your question

What's the shelf-life for ketchup packets?

If kept in a cool, dry place....

Last week, I had a Border Patrol agent show me a video of the cartel shooting a tube packed with weed over the border fence. It was impressive. They call them weed torpedoes.

How long until the drug lord found out an average citizen had all of his coke?

I'll pass that suggestion along. They shot one across about 6 weeks ago that had enough velocity to completely shatter the light pole it hit.

Michael Vaughan is in fact an idiot. Not sure if he was aiming for the "outstanding citizen of the year" award by publishing his real name in the media?

I wonder why they waited 3 months to announce the find?
