Why am I getting downvoted for the saying the guy is qualified?
I mean, the guy is clearly qualified. Maybe there is some nepotism involved, but the mayor doesn't pick the head of the Airport.
Anyway, it is a fun story, and he MAY have gotten the job this way...but that doesn't change the fact that he is qualified, that's all I was saying.

He served as acting director, assistant director and deputy director in various roles covering facilities, administration and finance and operations and maintenance in New Orleans between 1989 and 1999.

You think Mitch has no influence at MSY?

Certainly, but surely he has some influence. And from all accounts of his heavy handedness, I wouldn't doubt he was involved in making this happen.

I'm sure he does have some, but he doesn't just appoint the person.
My only point was that the guy IS qualified, regardless if he got it by nepotism. That's it.

His credentials seem to back that up.

I'm sure there's a lot of shite in NOLA that Mitch dictates despite having no direct affiliation with the entity he's dictating to.

Do you actually remember how fricked up and terrible MSY was during this stretch? This guy ran the airport into the ground.

But...
What's his tie to this woman, if any?

That's true. Especially, since his family has been involved in politics for so long there.

New Orleans owns MSY. Politics is nothing new there. Been at the airport 22 years.

He left 18 years ago. Maybe he learned something. Maybe not. He has a lot of experience. Maybe it's good experience. Maybe he's been run out of places. Maybe he's a consultant because he's so respected. Maybe he's a consultant because no one will hire him.
