Mississippi did away with inspection stickers several years ago. They were $5 and the proceeds went to a police /fireman’s fund. It was costing more to run the program than they were bringing in.

Do away with insp stickers? I guess registration and driver licenses and any other OMV fees will go up accordingly. The State isn't going to give up that cash cow easily.

Opponents of the bill worry taking away the stickers will take money from Louisiana State Police and Office of Motor Vehicles. Both offices receive funding from the stickers that are purchased.

Crazy question for the opponents: is there a more efficient way to provide them the funding they need without inconveniencing the general public and involving thousands of middle men? Put it in our millage rates and have people vote on it. Add it to the sales tax and have people vote on it.

Most "conservatives" in Louisiana are just pro-life Democrats.

It doesn’t have anything to do with party affiliation or ideology in this state. D’s and Rs go back and forth depending on which way the wind is blowing, and any sense of “morality” is laughable

What it is about is power, and how to keep it/expand it/exploit it for personal gain. That is how it has always been, and that is how it will always be.

Landry wants to be king/emperor, and he’s got plenty of sycophants and enablers in place to do just that. And that makes him just another in a long line of grifters and fakes that this state seems to grow in orchards
