In Shreveport, bums and grifters are rampant.

My daughter-in-law (no pics) went to pick up some items from Lowe's. The Lowe's in South Shreveport is in one of the nicest shopping areas. She pulls up and some squeegee wielding brother comes towards her. She waves him off, but he keeps coming. When he gets up to her car, she waves him off again. He starts banging on the car, flipping her off, and cussing at her.

Some other Lowe's customers contacted management in the store and they came out, running the guy off. He was arrested for trespass.

I was glad to see that Lowe's was responsive. Most of the stores are scared shitless about doing anything about the bums. They should run them all off, but they won't.

The mooching bums used to be in downtown. Last year or so, they are everywhere except at the "Gucci" Kroger shopping area.

Shopping sucks, but it is worse when you have to run through a gauntlet of vagrants.

I stopped at the Walmart gas station on Pines Rd yesterday to fill up and get some beer. The lady had to come unlock the cooler to get the beer out. She said it's getting so bad that folks will come in and grab a couple cases and just run out the door with them.

Yes. There is an enclave of bums behind the shopping center immediately South (JC Penney, Kohl's, Dick's). They are now infesting the Lowe's area.

The problem is that (1) Kohl's, JC Penney and Dick's won't do anything about it and (2) people give them money. As a business, why do you want an environment that is bum friendly? It should be as anti-bum as possible.

downtown is dead...have it on really good source the one guy/bar that has been trying to revive it is about to pull out for good.

Arceneaux has been a joke. Has done nothing except his morality police crusade to end mardi gras.

It's rare I leave our area of Provenance/south Shreveport now..especially with a kid

Cross the river.

Although Bossier has a few that work the intersection at Walmarks, Lowes and Sonic.

If any of them ever hit me up for money, I say "goddamn thats crazy man, I was about to ask you the same thing"

I was in OKC a couple weeks ago and I was shocked how many there were, especially in the nice parts of downtown/Bricktown and some of the shopping centers in good neighborhoods. It was almost California bad downtown.

They seem to be attracted to home improvement stores. There’s a full blown encampment in the woods near HD in LC.

My new comeback to them nowadays is, “Nah, I’m broke.”

Shuts them up every time.

That's how we were before we just left altogether. Trying to convince my folks to move down here to us.

Stores really don't give a shite as long as the bums don't scare away the customers - however, good on Lowes for doing that

thankfully they keep building this area up and are committed to keeping trash and trash attracting establishments. Between the restaurants, multiple little parks with events and now shops and new bar put in, we rarely have a real reason to even touch youree
