In-Ground fence system vs Wireless system for dog-Help me decide

We have a dog in the backyard with a hurricane fence but the dog started getting out. I bought a Pet Safe wireless system, it covers up to a 1/2 acre which is good because I don't want the dog getting in the pastures but it is impossible to set the boundary (it forms a circular boundary). So I was thinking of getting an in-ground system; that way I could create my own boundary, smaller in the back & more area in the front.
Those of you who have either one of these, what would you suggest-wireless or in ground? Also, with the in-ground system, how deep do you have to bury them? Any pros/cons would help. TIA

I love our wireless one. Our pointer learned very quickly how far she can go. Never had a problem with it being a circular boundary.

I had to replace the wire of our in ground on a previous house. The wire is just a few inches under the ground. I used an edger to dig the trench, if you want to call it that.

I bought the Pet Safe wireless last week. Worked with my dog for about 3 days trying to train him. He hit the boundary Saturday with it turned all the way up and it got his arse good. He doesn't go near the flags now. Too soon to tell but it looks like a good purchase.

Bought the petsafe wireless one and it worked good for about two weeks. Now it just beeps erratically. Tried changing batteries and resetting it several times.

I've got the DogWatch buried wire in our yard. We have a lake in the backyard that our dog wants to swim in all the time.
Since installing the fence a couple of years ago, she knows exactly where she can and cannot go. Even playing fetch she won't go near boundaries if her ball goes across. She'll stop and wait. Even without the collar on.
When we go for a walk out the front of the house she'll stop where the boundary is (again without her DogWatch collar) and wait for me to pick her up over the boundary (she's a 45-lb lab-mix).
Best money I've ever spent on my dog.

If a dog gets a running start and doesnt mind very temporary pain, he ll run through it.
