That's why I have no intention to ever move back.

Stayed in Athens after graduation, and definitely not jealous of the 1.5 hour round-trip commute every day.

I actually calculated the amount of my life so far that I've gotten to enjoy not stuck in a car.

5 years in Athens x 250 workdays x 1.5 hours = 1875 hours or about 80 days.

Having THE preeminent, thriving Southern economy does have its drawbacks.

Why would you stay in Athens and work anywhere near the city?

Also for the OP, why wouldn't you stay somewhere closer to where you need to be. I've been here two years and the traffic is horrible. Nobody believes me when I tell them the traffic in Hawaii is way worse but it is true.

?

I live and work in Athens. I'm not talking about commuting to Atlanta from Athens. I'm talking about commuting up and down I-75/85, GA-400, or I-20 to and from work.
