Immigrants speaking English....OR NOT !

So, Frontline had a special called Rape on the Night Shift--about female illegal immigrant janitorial people getting raped while working nights. They interviewed about 6 victims--five hispanic ones (you know, where they share the latin alphabet with English) and one from the Ukraine (you know, where they use a completely different alphabet). I'll give you one guess which one spoke English.

So these women moved to a country with no official language, and can clearly function just fine (i.e. are not dead, have gained employment, are raising familes) but they should learn english so you dont have to read when they talk on your tv? And they are dumb??
