NOW!!

And switch companies when it’s all over. Don’t wait and think it won’t happen to you. After all your agent is your “friend”.

Like a good neighbor State Farm is a thief.

EDIT: To answer some questions asked.

Filed claim day of Laura. Took about 2 weeks for adjuster to show (fine with it). I’m her first EVER adjustment. She drives up in a car. No ladder, no drone nothing. A camera without a charged battery. It dies on her. She needs to charge it. I have no electricity but charge it on my generator. She doesn’t want to get on my roof so takes a few pictures from below. Does not get pictures of second story which is 30 ft x 45 ft and is down to the plywood. I tell her I have pictures of it already. I’ll upload it.

Wait 4 weeks for the report. She COMPLETELY left off the main portion of my damaged roof. I think I need a new roof but at a minimum the part that’s damaged. State Farm says to have my contractor out to review it and send in an estimate. My contractor who is a friend says he doesn’t have time. He has 300 houses to get to. Eventually he’ll get here but not in a matter of days. He’s working 7 days a week...running 5 roofing crews. They said after the contractor comes they’ll review the report and then send out a second adjuster to look at it again!!! This will be weeks. And then Delta rolls through ripping my tarps off my roof!!

That’s who I have, so far they treated me right for Laura, time will tell how my Delta claim goes.

This excludes my 5% deductible, but I signed up for that..

They all are, I had to go to corporate against All-State to cover an outside AC condenser beat to shite by softball size hail. They're fricking thieves, they'll take your premiums though.

State Farm contracts out their adjusters and I can tell you from word of mouth from a local agent, they are not happy with the quality of adjusters being sent to LA.

Unfortunately, its going to be rinse and repeat for Delta.

So what was JBE talking about earlier during his presser hen he said if you filed a claim for Laura and paid a deductible, that they can’t make you pay another deductible for Delta? I’m paraphrasing of course, and I’m sure I missed something, but does anyone in the business know the ins and outs of said statement?

So, is that to say they’re approving claims left and right?

The reason adjusters are crap is because 80% of them have never adjusted a claim before this storm. About 2 years ago all the big insurance company’s, to save cost, got away from adjusters for lots of claim handling. Windstorm and hail claims typically get “inspectors” that take pictures and send it to a desk adjuster to make coverage decisions. They use mitigation companies to send info for desk adjusters to handle water losses. A lot of experienced adjusters have moved on, when a large event like this happens, they have inexperience in the field and inexperience in the office. Lots of missed damage and lots of loss poor service. This is the future of claim handling

Same with auto. They have their customers send photos and a desk adjuster writes a bullshite estimate. It will all get taken care of by the shop on supplements is there way of thinking. It also allows them to cut the number of outside/field adjusters they need.

I hired a PA to handle my damage claim for my business and the loss of business claim. I negotiated the rate for both. They’re going to handle my home claim for free.

Not on property claims, but I have heard rumors that the state might be only allowing one hurricane deductible per year.

State Farm denied 3 of my claims before I left them. Plenty of money for nfl commercials. No money for customers.

Not really.

1. Insurance companies are not your good neighbor.
2. For major storms, they hire incompletent and inexperienced adjusters
3. Insurance companies will try to F you in the a at every turn.
4. You will have to fight like hell to avoid being F'ed in the A.
5. All general rules and all true.

How does it work? Hourly? Per job? Contingency? Other?
