We packed three days clothes last night. Jackets. Bedding. Medicines. Computers and chargers for cells and computers.
We got a 4 am text from nixle this morning, mandatory evacuate next town east (within 4 miles).
Wildfire.
I think it's arson.

Too many people didn't have a go bag. I know my parents didn't have one, nor a lot of my friends. They forgot stuff in the moment, and are currently having a really shitty time at the shelter.
Long story short, have a go bag people, especially if you have animals.

Id think:
Water
Canned food and opener
Other non perishable food
Medicine if you're taking any
Clothes - short and long pants &shirt
Flashlight & extra batteries
Cell phone charger
Radio & batteries
Towel & blanketf
Basic first aid items

As an aside, you can put photo albums, etc in doubled up garbage bags in case of flood to retrieve once you return.
All of this is so tragic. My mother in law had to walk nearly a mile in waist deep water while her aged lab swam alongside to get to a ride out.
