If You Could, Would You Wipe Out Your "Permanent Record"?

I'm sure we all got threatened with some form of the, "It's going on your permanent record," speech in school only to later find out that it was complete bullshite, but there are permanent records out there.

Traffic tickets, arrests, diplomas, certifications, marriage licenses, bankruptcies, property records, credit histories, etc.

They are all out there and easily accessed by anyone that really wants to dig into your past.

What if you could wipe it all away? But you would wipe away the good and the bad. Would you press the reset button? Would you give up any record of the positive things you've accomplished to remove that assault charge or bankruptcy?

No, I've worked hard to have my record the way it is.

So start fresh?

Does that include outstanding debt and mortgages?

Yes, any piece of paper with your name on it is gone, except identifying things like SSN and Birth Certificate.

There are maybe a couple of recorded mistakes that I would like deleted, but there is more good than bad on that record. I'll just keep what I have.

I spent plenty of time on stuff like my education and credit etc.

Sure.

It would free me from obligations and allow me to do something I really wanted to do.

definitely take off some of those public intox arrests. Like 90% weren't legit anyway, just bouncers/police giving me a hard time.

never swung at anybody or broke anything.

I don't know what the hell their problem was.

Yes, all the fat women I slump busted in college. While you're at it, can you erase it from my memory also.

Yeah wipe it out. See what happens.

No credit (No proof you're related to someone who can co-sign)
No education
No employment experience
No address
No SSN
No Car (Because you no longer own it nor have a license to drive it)
No citizenship

It'd be fun

That's a tough one bc of the good and bad part. I'm on probation for some bullshite. Of course I'd want to wipe that clean. I may get the opportunity to expunge that off my record but that will take time and cost more money and I still don't know if the judge would be on board for that. I would love to wipe that out but I don't know bc I also have a good degree that I want to keep as I put a lot of time and money in to my education.

I think I'd take my chances and just stay the course, with my circumstances.

However, if my charge was more serious, hell yea I'd erase that, even if it did cost me my degree.

frick no.

School was paid for by my parents and I don't have any other labor skills so I'd have to go to school and get in major debt.

And I love my wifey.

My old high school was discarding files last summer, and anyone who wanted to could pick theirs up. So I have my permanent record.

Nothing but grades and test scores BTW.
