If we taught chimpanzees to drive people around . . . .

do you think they could manage driving in a goddamned straight line at 60 mph on the interstate without hitting anybody? I have had it with the idiots and their accidents on the interstate. I watch the traffic very closely and in my mind, the idiots causing accidents are as much to blame for traffic issues as the volume of cars.
Three times this week, during what would be a low traffic period, I've had to take surface streets to avoid the clusterfrick on the interstate caused by some idiot who can't drive.
I would support automatic revocation of driver's licenses for one week, forcing them to use public transportation, on top of whatever else they managed to be ticketed for.
Something has got be done about this.

Wait till the automatic cars arrive and you are literally a captive audience, and Big Brother will be able to stop your car, steer your car, direct your car to any destination it wants.

You have my unmitigated support in this quest. I drive quite a bit (approaching 50,000 miles a year) and I cannot tell you how dangerous it has become since smartphones. People are getting killed because drivers are too damn stupid to pay attention to the road. Be very careful out there mi amigos!!
