I want to maximize my son's chances of getting a baseball scholarship/getting drafted/going pro in baseball but he is coming up on age 5 and just finishing up his first year of t-ball, if he doesn't join a travel select t-ball league next year does that pretty much mean he will never go pro?
I just want to make sure he is playing t-ball at least 6 months a year, against the best possible competition possible with other 5 and 6 year olds who are elite t-ball players and have parents that actually care about competition rather than just treating it like an everyone-gets-a-trophy rec league. If he isn't devoting most of his time to t-ball and if he is surrounded by scrub 5 and 6 year olds who don't care and aren't good that will just weigh him down as it will rub off on him. Iron sharpens iron so I want to make sure he is playing with the elite of the elite of 5 and 6 year old t-ball next year.

15 years from now when my son is working his way through the minors as a can't-miss prospect while yours are working at Applebee's you all will regret not putting your sons through travel ball at a young age.
I don't want my son associating with t-ball rec leagues where the competition level is simply that, recreational. I want my son in a competitive year-round travel ball league next year.

i would look at sending him the dominican republic for travel t-ball.. it's never too early
also, weight training. have him start with simple bench press of 50lbs (3 sets of 25 reps)
what's his 40 yard dash speed?
you are on the right tract coming here and asking us.

My son is only 20 weeks old and we have talked EXTENSIVELY about this. Woman wants him to play soccer. I'm thinking divorce.

Five is to late... You have failed as a parent .. best to kill yourself and save your son the shame that you've brought on your household.
