Meaning, is it a watershed event that marks the real beginning of the end of marijuana prohibition in this country sooner rather than later?

It will be legalized in many places, but slowly. Some old folks are going to have to die off first. (I'm not joking, just being morbidly honest.)

It certainly won't hurt the movement. If they legalize tomorrow and do very well over the next year or two, other states will follow suit.

As long as LEO are making money off the drug war, they will continue to fight for it.

It's hard to kill the golden goose when it feeds so many politicians and tax collectors.

Didn't Hillary say she would continue the war on drugs?

Nothing for Louisiana. Our big plan is to supplement state budget cuts in higher ed by turning our universities into drug dealers.

I don't plan to hold my breath until any state in the South legalizes it. Culturally, the West Coast is almost unrecognizable from this region of the country.

I support legal marijuana, but I think those who actually smoke it are lowlife worthless deadbeats who are no better than the maggots reproducing in a dead possum carcass.

Was in California a week ago at a dispensary, asked the budtender her thoughts on this bill.

Believe it or not, she claimed that she was 100% against it and that it was a massive step backwards. From what I could gather, the way the laws are now make it much better for someone who wants to get bud and smoke it. If passed, the new laws would pretty much make it impossible to smoke unless you're hidden in your own closet or something.

My point it is, it might not pass.

There are plenty of people like that but there are also a lot of people who smoke a joint on the weekend or now and then and are completely normal. It would be like saying anyone who drinks is a homeless alcoholic. Not everyone abuses the drug. I don't even smoke, for the record, but something as safe as marijuana and with such medical benefits should not be illegal.

Meh. It will probably bring black market prices down further.

Less money wasted on pot prohibition, less people with a criminal record = lots of problems solved.
