Thanks for overreacting anyway.

Might want to read the whole post. I was responding to someone who DID bring up climate change.

Thanks for playing, come again.

Looking at the OP...George Strait may finally have to unass that Golden Gate Bridge that he loves to brag about so much.

think that is complete bullshite......so you know how much water would be needed to raise the pacific by an inch.....much less several hundred feet to flood mainlands.

seriously? its simple math of a sphere versus elevation lines and the guys doing it for the map are better at than anyone here

This includes Antarctica, which holds 2% of the world's water. You bet your arse it would rise that hight if that melted.

I need a couple loads of good dirt in my back yard. We're doing some new landscaping.

You do know there is a difference in calculating sea level IF all the ice melted and predicting armegeddon, right?

2 birds with one stone...there is a draw bridge near my camp that opens 90% of the time because of the antennas on the tug boats...so a congresswoman suggested digging it deeper under the bridge so they could get by without opening it

I don't really think the intent of the OP was to point out the evils of global warming. I couldn't give two shits about the man-made climate change crap. I was just interested in the maps. I could be wrong though. Thanks for overreacting anyway

This. I don't know why everything has to turn into some political pissing session. The OP started out with a big IF. To me that's an interesting topic just as an exercise in seeing what could happen. (heck, though I think almost any post apocalyptic type scenario is interesting).

I knew though that it would turn into another global warming tussle

Yeah, because sea levels on earth have never changed due to climate cycles such as ice ages and warm periods.

I think somebody ought to spend a little more time getting educated rather than playing with an iDiot device on facebook if they're going to comment on a scientific thread.

i did a little research earlier when this was on page 2....scientists dont even know how thick the sheet is on antarctica. their range had a 400% difference....thats a hell of alot of deviation.

and i did a back of the napkin calc and IF antarctica was the thickest they think it is it could raise just the pacific ocean a couple hundred feet. i didnt tak into account all the other oceans much less all the other ice sheets.

but hey... thats a whole lot of assuming they are doing... but let the peasants just believe anything this scientists are saying just so the lawmakers can get rich off stupid laws.
