one of our drivers told me a box truck rolled and took out 5 or 6 cars with it. He's sitting there with the truck turned off and told us to not expect him to move anytime soon

East bound looks closed and major accident in both directions reported on waze. Just another day on the interstate

All lanes of I-12 east are closed due to an accident just before the Causeway/190 exit. Get off at 1077 or 21. If you're east of the Hwy 21 exit, you may be stuck there a while.

Any fatalities reported yet? What time did the accident occur? This has shut the city down as far as commuting is concerned

No major injuries. Saw it on the news earlier. Theres a box truck turned sideways blocking the entire roadway. If you're in it, get comfortable.

I drive this route daily as my office is on Hwy 59. This morning around 6:45, the sun east bound was brutal when I topped the River Bridge. Cars were locking up their brakes everywhere not expecting to see traffic slowing down before the 190 exit.
There was a minor wreck East bound with two cars on the left shoulder at 6:45. State Trooper was on the right shoulder. Traffic was slowing down everywhere and the sun was blinding with the clear skies looking directly east right there. I suspect all of this played a huge role in the major accident.

Well that explains why hwy 21 was backed up from downtown Covington to the interstate. I've never seen it that bad.

Had to go all the way around through downtown Covington by St paul's up 190 and back to the interstate. 45 minute drive took me 2.5 hours. Hopefully nobody got injured. Any news on exactly what the hell happened?
