The one and only time I took ambien I basically ate the entire pantry/fridge then apparently ran down the street in my boxers growing like a wolf.

That was 9 years ago. I won't take it again

Not a-hole, I'd say adventurous....and What do Oxy's have to do with anything?

I think I've shared these stories about my mother and Ambien here before, but here they are again:

Mom was elderly and not in the best of health, so she was living with us and I managed her meds. Doc prescribed Ambien to help her sleep, but I didn't know until later (when I researched horrorstories about it) just how bad the side effects were.

She woke us up a couple of times shrieking for no reason at all, and also told me (as if she were awake) about the people making shadows on her wall move. Would eat stuff in the middle of the night & not be aware of it (she was diabetic and this would really screw up her blood sugar levels). The last straw was when I found her wandering around the house with some forks she was going to use to stab "the bad men" that were in the house. With young children in the house, I couldn't risk that she might attack someone else without knowing what she was doing, so I called the doctor the next day and got her to stop taking Ambien.

There are some really bad stories on the internet about people driving and wrecking their cars and other things like that.

So you share a story about hallucinating on Ambien on the OT of all places, and you get pissed because people joke around or give you a hard time about it? What is wrong with the Internet today? Am I on ambien?

Hell yea. My sis was home visiting my parents for a few days last winter, took an Ambien and went into a zombie state. Eyes closed, could carry on a conversation, but couldn't wake up. Took her to the ER, she came out of it after a couple of hours and was fine. No more Ambien for her, and after seeing that, I'll never take it.

ETA: the nurse said someone comes in like that pretty often.

Sex on ambient is fun. I still have some but it really doesn't put me to sleep.

Wow. I never knew ambien could do this. After a surgery, my doc put ambien on the list of drugs to give me. I was taking it combined with serious narcotics. I don't remember doing goofy things it just made me sleep. The only thing I hated was the Mechanical leg pumps (pneumatic compression stockings) common after surgery to prevent an aneurysm. The compression woke me up constantly.

I used to take Amibien and would wake up in the mornings with shite like cracker crumbs or Reese's wrappers in my bed the next morning with no recollection of getting up and eating anything. I quit taking it when I woke up one morning and my bed was covered in wrappers of junk food I didn't have in the house when I went to sleep and found a receipt in my pocket for $15 of candy from a gas station at 2 a.m.

That shite should be banned, IMO. It was one of the drugs that my ex-wife liked to abuse, so I may just be biased against it.

I've taken it but never has done anything for me. My wife on the other hand, she's woken up to wrappers and food the next morning and Amazon boxes showing up two days later she has no recollection of ordering.

Sounds like she's buttering you up for the inevitable Ashley Madison excuse.

The second time I took it was after a party. As soon as we got home the wife handed it to me to take. I don't know if I actually fell asleep, or what. What I do know are things that were relayed to me afterwards, and some scattered memories I have about what happened.

Apparently, I told her I was going to get some beer. She tried to stop me, even by standing in front of the truck. I just kept going. I drove to the convenience store and began walking around looking for beer and fussing at the clerks about something. I think it was about random bullshite at first, then I got mad because they couldn't sell me beer.

I finally left, got into my truck and promptly hit a concrete post, backed up calmly, and drove off back home. The store was only a a couple miles away from home and I was just cruising back home. Then, when I am right around the corner from my house blue lights start flashing out of nowhere. So I pulled over into a subdivision.

I had no idea what was going on when the cops approach my truck angry and roughly yank me out of the vehicle. I kept asking them what was going on, because I know I wasn't speeding.

They take me back to the store for people there to ID me. The whole while I'm asking them why they are doing this, and honestly telling them that I've never seen these people before. I had NO real idea of what happened.

I was able to piece together what happened after a trip to jail. The judge knew how this drug affects people and was gentle to me.

My Ambien story? Well now... gather around and let me tell you about my last Ambien experience. It was around 2005 and I was having my typical bouts of insomnia. My father suggested I give one of his Ambien's a try to help fall asleep. I did just that and went to sleep, at least I thought I had but as it turns out I had done nothing but.

The next morning, I woke up and realized I am fully clothed in clothes I didn't wear the day before and notice my handgun was in my hand (more on that later). Naturally I freak out and I panic. I first start to go through my pockets and wallet to see if there was anything in my pockets to help me solve the mystery of what the frick was going on. I search and found an ATM receipt for $300 from around 3am that morning. I had fallen asleep around 11pm, at least that's what I thought.

I then go through my phone to see who I last contacted and when and sure enough, I had called a really good buddy of mine a little after 2AM. I call him and ask why I called him last night and he tells me that I called him after 2AM to see what he was doing and he tells me that he told me that he was in a Poker Tournament downtown and that I immediately tell him I'm on my way. He said that I should up around 20 minutes later, walked straight to the ATM, took out around $200-300 and entered the tournament. He says I bet everything on one hand and then left. He said I was there for a total of 10-15 minutes.

Back to the handgun. Before I did any of the above, I dropped the magazine, cleared the chamber and counted every bullet. The magazine held 15 9mm rounds (Did not keep +1 in the chamber). I counted every bullet in the magazine of which totaled to 15 which was a total relief.

TL:DR- I took Ambien, drove to and from the casino in downtown Baton Rouge while asleep, pulled out ~$300 and bet it all on one hand of poker and left. Woke up with a handgun in my hand while having no remembrance of any of what occurred or transpired.

Result- Never took Ambien again.

I took an Ambien and realized the next day that I had done your mom.

Just kidding, that's not true at all.

I took Viagra and then did your mom.
