Papa Johns has dropped in quality since they ousted The Papa. Never was amazing but there is a noteable difference. Did some googling and GMs/employees seem to think the same thing. That and having a former fast food CEO running the show. Papa Johns is too busy pushing out new menu items and not working on improving the core product, which is garbage.

Papa johns crust tastes like card board... gotta have the dipping sauce, but they never give enough. Dominos atleasts puts it on the crust. Dominos is def the best of the cheap chain pizzas.

Hungry howies pizza is up there too.

We have a local spot with an arcade for the kids and decent beer. They still have 16 year olds and stoner college kids delivering. It's like a blast back to the 80s and the pizza is so much better than big chains. Similar pricing too.

I think the owner is killing it. Always packed. I want to invest in it or copy it

Papa John’s has always been stingy on the toppings. This is America. We want to see lots of toppings on our pizza.
We tried Crust Pizza last night. Lots of toppings and good flavors. Crust is not too thick or too thin. But honestly, it’s mainly about the $$ these days. It’s was a little over $45 for two large pizzas and two cokes. It’s just out of control with prices for groceries and bottom tiered restaurants like fast food joints and pizza.

As far as the national pizza chains I would say they are the best but all national food chains besides Chick-Fila have dropped in quality since the pandemic.

You're always going to find regional chains and mom & pop places that make better pizza though.

Honestly none of the main chains are that good anymore. Dominoes used to be the best and Pizza Hut has gotten better, but I’m going local before I go to any of those.

Everyone uses that same excuse to raise costs and cheat consumers. Hopefully, they all crash.

Lost pizza is in multiple locations in Tupelo. You also have Papa Vanelli’s downtown.

The original one in Indianola was actually Lost Dog Pizza Co the owner got the name from some place in the Virgin Islands. When they decided to franchise there was a trademark issue and they were forced to change the name to Lost Pizza

I still say to people “let’s go to lost dog” and they look at me funny because most don’t know or forgot it was once called that.

Greenwood has a Pizza Inn that’s pretty solid. You don’t see those around like you used to

Does Pizza Pro still exist? I remember them in rural gas stations and it being pretty decent but it’s been maybe 20 years since I had it. Maybe Hunt Bros put them out of business?

Worst pizza I ever at from a chain was a Mazzios in yazoo city a long time ago. I literally spit it out and threw it away.

Best pizza I ever had is a place in Gassville, Ar when I go rainbow trout fishing on the white river. It’s called Nimas. True Italian bakery with legit pizza and calzones, and Italian pastries like cannolis. Place is awesome

So does Marco’s. They’re both good but rarely see them aside from a few cities. Should be more widely available.

Marcos is really good for what it is. There's one by the house and it's the only pizza we get.
