Is this going to be an incredibly difficult task? I know these window companies work on commission and I'm not a big customer. Would a window company even come out for just one window?

Three window minimum is the industry standard.

ETA: I made that up.

yeah you did.

i upgraded the picture window in my bathroom using home depot once-upon-a-time for around $500.

it was well worth it but made all the builder-grade windows in the rest of the house look like shite afterward.

Glass is fogged but I didn't know you could replace that. I thought the entire window would have to be changed.

often this is the same cost

eta swapping out entire window is way less labor that cracking open your existing one to reattach a pane.

bullshite, they bing bang boom and replace them glass pannels in literally like a minute. I was so pissed paying $300-$400 worth of labor replacing about 5 panels that took all in all less than 13 minutes of work.

8 or 9 years old. I doubt I could find out the maker of the window since this is a home that my mother bought a few years ago.

I'll take a look. But if I needed to replace, do the entire window or a panel? I just called Window World and it's around $300. $189 for the window and a contract fee of $100

depends on the window. some are definitely easier to take apart.

whats the glass size broke. I do that in Mississippi but can give you a round about price to just replace the glass.

just an example a 28x34 double pane window with the bars between the glass would be about $180.00 + tax here.

71"X36

That's the entire window. Only the top part is fogged.

the ones with the bars in the center are more than without. but it sounds like the size I gave an example on is about right. You can call any full glass shop that does residential glass and they can give you an actual quote. Just measure the the actual size of just the glass that fogged (metal to metal) and give them that.

Don't order from that size though. Just let them come measure it for order.

look for a sticker on there, find out who made them

see how close to you they are, or someone who services for them

I did that, pulled the one panel, put up cardboard

the replcement was ready in a cpl days

NO, I had to go there, but it was pretty painless, but I had the time. under 50 dollars
