There are ivory billed woodpeckers in Louisiana. I know, pics or it didn't happen, but I have seen them and I'm educated on the differences.

In not the only one either. Bird isn't extinct.

Dude me and my family have been searching for IBW's for over 6 years now all over the southeast. We were a huge part of the initiative to offer large amounts of money to anyone who could find a nest. Every person who has claimed to have spotted one has either just misidentified it or is seeking attention. At this point we're 99.999% sure they're extinct.

How big was it? I've seen pileated woodpeckers that are pretty big, but IBW's are supposed to be a good bit bigger I believe
