I don't know how it happened, but I won't inquire about it either. They took it the first time around, but not this one.

I wasn't even expecting it. Then.....Voila, an alert appeared on my phone. It was like Ed McMahon coming to my door.

I'm only a few thousand away from catching up (employment gap a few years ago, it's really the interest that I am paying at this point). It's also getting taken from my regular payroll check....which is fine.

Happy New Year everyone. It's party time.

Trashy as frick

Also, why don’t you skip a check or two in order to catch up on that quickly? Also, you should be able to put at least $600 more towards it now too. frick, some people manage money like it is meaningless.

I’m an attorney. Child support in almost all cases is a losing scenario for the father, regardless of circumstances. It is quiet literally court mandated payments for the right to see your biological child. The state has told you that you must pay for the privilege. If you don’t have a problem with that, then congratulations on contributing to the ever expanding reach of our government.

IMO they should've taken it.

If you have to work at McDonald's to support your children, then you work at McDonald's.

So your kids suffered because you didn't pay, still not caught up, and you are celebrating?

In my experience, visitation doesn't end just because the party isn't paying. Would have to be a real problem to reach this level.

That’s exactly what it is. The assumption is that most dads are absent or not contributing to the child’s overall well being. That’s not true in almost all cases. Instead of granting joint custody, 50/50, judges almost always give more time to the mother and slap the father with child support.

You’re paying a state mandated fee to the child’s mother for the right to see your child regardless of whether or not you are a capable and doting father for whatever percentage of time the court has decided you deserve. It’s a broken system.

Maybe his kids didn’t deserve his support. They are old enough (4 and 6 yrs old) to support themselves.

Downvoted.

You make kids with a shitty woman and then complain when you realize that she’s a shitty woman and mother.

Pay for your responsibilities and stop blaming the courts.

It’s not society’s fault you’re a bad judge of character.

And it’s certainly not your offspring’s fault either.
