I work part time at a restaurant and there was a guy who worked there who was 24 years old. All the female employees complained about him because he was your definition of a typical douche who gets a bit too close with the females there when it came to his hands. But since I never actually witnessed his behavior I just thought they were making it up for attention.

But the other night one of his friends come in and his friend and the employee who got fired, slapped one of our 16 year old hosts right across the behind. They both did and proceeded to make comments about her arse. She scurried out of there, trying to get away. This host in particular told me that he does this all the time and also harasses her over text message trying to get her to have sex with him. She showed me the texts in question. Since I finally saw first hand evidence of this harassment, and as well as the text messages, I reported it to our general manager who then fired him.

A lot of people are mad at me at the place for snitching. It makes no sense - all the girl employees said they hated him, but at the same time are mad at me, and also tended flirt with him a lot. Should I feel bad? I don't, because if you are 8 years older than a 16 year old and are sexually harassing her you get what you deserve.

You made the appropriate decision. The girl was probably too embarassed or scared to say anything to the manager.

Why didn't you confront him about it? That's how I thought this story was going to wind up. This story sucks otherwise

The right thing was done. This guy needed to go. He was only going to run off good employees.

Agree.

And I'm sure the manager appreciates it. I don't think any manager would want some dick employee pedo-ing around with other employees. It doesn't really matter what your coworkers think in this situation, they aren't the one's who are gonna promote you or that you're going to use as references for future jobs.

Honestly, if the girls were flirting and not complaining so that he knew it, he probably thought that they liked it. He got what he deserved, though one of them should have been the one to say something.

Nobody likes white knights. If they wanted him fired they would have spoken out themselves IMO. It's 2014 and girls are snarky and very empowered. They have no problem labeling guys "creeps" if their advances are unwanted. You assuming that they're "too shy" to speak out about it shows how out of touch you are IMO.

If the guy was better looking than you then everybody is going to think you're jealous and did it out of spite. If you did it to be a "good guy" than you're a beta white knight who needs to mind his own business.

In this case, whoever stands to profit from a successful business does I'm sure.

Women are so dumb. And this guy sounds like a predator, so of course you did the right thing.
