This is so damn ridiculous. China is showing the entire world that they don't give a damn about laws and they will steal your shite and won't think twice about it.

quote:

Jordan is embroiled in a lawsuit against Qiaodan Sports -- again, this business name is equivalent to "Michael Jordan Sports" -- on grounds that the company has used his Chinese name and his jersey number "23" to sell sportswear and other memorabilia. The company has done so without Jordan's permission, and without giving him any compensation

quote:

New Balance reportedly lost a trademark lawsuit that required the company to pay $16 million, according to Chinese state media reports. Meanwhile, Chinese fast food chain Yonghe Dawang uses branding designed to closely resemble KFC, including a Chinese "Colonel" modeled after the original.

The Chinese Communists seem to be pretty good at it. So are the former Soviets. Could it be because it works?

Communists don't respect the ownership of intellectual property. It is foreign to them - pun intended. In their view if they can do it faster or cheaper then they should be able to compete against you using your own ideas or technology.

They've done the same with military designs from Russian warplanes. Basically stopped buying them and built their own similar design.

1. Cheap labor
2. non-existent safety or environmental regulations
3. With the right bribe, the government will imminent domain you whatever property you need
4. potential customer market of +1 billion people

Because war is the alternative. It's better to trade with your enemies than to cut them off, depending on their size of coure. Pakistan is the only trade partner we have right now that I'd consider cutting ties with.

I worked with the Chinese for 12 years. I've never in my life ran across a more dishonest and unethical people in all my life.

They'll climb a tree to tell a lie when they could stand on the ground and tell the truth.
